Your opportunity:
Whitsunday Water is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Business Data Analyst to support our operational, financial, and capital project functions. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting and performance analysis across our water business, contributing to effective decision-making and the successful delivery of major projects.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Query, review and collate data from multiple systems; analyse trends, investigate discrepancies, and support accurate financial forecasting.
2. Provide logistical and financial analysis for alternative forecasting scenarios.
3. Maintain accurate inventory records, undertake stock checks, and oversee stocktake processes.
4. Monitor expense and job costing codes, prepare correcting journals, and ensure timely financial feedback.
5. Attend stakeholder meetings to communicate financial insights and provide procurement process advice.
6. Support quarterly budget reviews and prepare ad hoc budget adjustments.
Operational Accountabilities:
1. Prepare and deliver financial analysis and reports, highlighting trends, variances, and emerging issues.
2. Produce monthly financial management reports with clear commentary.
3. Assist with evaluating financial assumptions, job costing methods, and business case model development.
4. Analyse data to support KPI and benchmark reviews.
5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast outcomes and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
6. Contribute to the enhancement of systems, processes, templates, and documentation.
7. Assist in training staff on FMIS, budgeting tools, and associated procedures.
