The Opportunity

The ICT Technical Officer reports to the Infrastructure Team Leader and will work closely with the other Technical Officers, Service Desk Staff, ICT Team Leaders, Project Managers, internal stakeholders, vendors and support partners.

The ICT Technical Officer provides technical services to the Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Councils’ information technology and communication systems.

 

About Yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications and work experience OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.

It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:

(1)  ITIL v3/v4 Foundation

(2) Sound experience VMware; ESXi (5 and newer), vCenter and VMWare Data Recovery

(3) Sound experience in Microsoft Domain Services (DNS, DHCP, DFS, AD, Group Policy)

(4) Minimum 3 years working in ICT corporate Environment.

(5) Server operating systems and applications; Windows Server 2012-2022, Linux.

(6) Storage hardware and management tools

(7) Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning

(8) Data management techniques and technologies; SQL Server Management Studio 2012 to SQL Server Management Studio 19

(9) Sound knowledge of networking technologies; (WAN / LAN Routing, Switching, VPN, Firewalls)

(10) Sound experience in Microsoft O365 and SharePoint Administration

(11) Sound Experience in the following: IIS, SCCM, CommVault, Exchange, Intune and file and print services will be highly regarded.
