We’re looking for a motivated and practical Labourer to help deliver a high standard of maintenance across Council venues and precincts, ensuring safe, well-presented spaces for our community to enjoy.
What we’re looking for
Essential
Formal qualifications relevant to the role, or demonstrated experience in turf management, maintenance or a similar field
A current C Class and Medium Rigid (MR) Driver’s Licence (or the ability to obtain), with the capacity to travel independently between work locations
Knowledge of professional turf industry standards, procedures and practices
Demonstrated experience maintaining and operating automated and high-pressure irrigation systems
A flexible, can-do attitude with the capacity to undertake manual and varied duties
Strong work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision
A commitment to teamwork and providing excellent customer service
Desirable
Relevant licences and experience operating specialist turf equipment (e.g. tractor, bobcat)
Forklift licence
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining Council venues and surrounding areas to a high standard. Your duties will include:
Undertaking specialised turf management and general civil maintenance tasks
Operating and maintaining irrigation systems, plant and equipment
Maintaining venues and surrounds in a safe, clean and tidy condition
Monitoring, identifying and reporting defects or issues in a timely manner
Assisting with event and function set-ups as required
Completing general cleaning and maintenance duties
Accurately capturing work information in Council systems in line with recordkeeping requirements
Providing friendly, solutions-focused customer service to internal and external stakeholders
