The Position
The Local Law Officer will work collaboratively to provide advice, education, guidance and enforcement within the community on issues relating to animals, nuisances, regulated parking and other local law matters.
The Local Law Officer conducts regulatory inspections on activities in public areas. These activities seek legislative and legal compliance and entail duties such as undertaking investigations on compliance issues, documenting actions and issuing permits.
Based in Innisfail or Tully with regular travel around the region, the Local Law Officer will also attend community events and be a part of an after-hours on-call roster.

About You
You will be a confident and motivated individual with a positive attitude toward learning new skills. You bring strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, along with a curious mindset that supports the interpretation and application of legislation. This will enable you to quickly build knowledge of relevant Acts and Local Laws to achieve positive outcomes for the community.
You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative local laws team, using your strong computer and written communication skills to manage systems, case notes and reports.
