Full TimeRotorua Lakes Council is looking for motivated Parking Wardens to join our community safety team. This role plays a crucial part in encouraging and ensuring compliance with parking regulations and providing general ambassadorial assistance to residents and tourists. Your responsibilities will include patrolling by vehicle or on foot, monitoring compliance, issuing Infringements for stationary vehicle offences and addressing abandoned vehicles. Parking Wardens also help achieve Council’s community safety objectives through effective connection and escalation to relevant stakeholders.
You will Actively ensure relevant Parking legislative requirements and Council policies, bylaws and procedures are effectively monitored and enforced to a professional standard and KPI’s are met. While proactively assisting and educating customers to navigate parking requirements to help facilitate positive parking experiences, you will need to proactively and reactively assist the Safe City Guardian and CCTV team and strategic partners as appropriate in relation to community safety matters.
To thrive in this position, you need to have a current, clean and full NZ driver’s license, a clear police record, school cert or NCEA equivalent in English and Maths, along with suitable knowledge of traffic legislation, policies, and bylaws. Previous experience monitoring and enforcing stationary traffic offences and relevant experience in a relatable enforcement/compliance role are also desirable.
