Council is seeking applications for a Pest Management Officer to join our Pest Management Team. This is a temporary, full-time position for up to 12 months. Employment with Council beyond this period is not guaranteed.

About the role

 The role of Pest Management Officers at Burdekin Shire Council is diverse. Activities include monitoring and controlling mosquitos, all aspects of pest plant and animal control in accordance with Council’s various management plans.  Officers support landholders to access Council’s subsidy programs and liaise with a variety of stakeholders. Officers utilise a wide range of plant and equipment from quad bikes, spray units to tablets, computers, GPS, surveillance cameras, microscope to name a few.

This position is suited to someone that is physically active who enjoys learning and job diversity, can work autonomously or in a team environment. Please refer to Position Description for more information.

The applicable annual salary for this position is $83,459, with the commencing salary dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
