The Rates Officer is responsible for providing administrative support for the rates area

within the Finance team, by being the focal point of contact for customer (internal and

external). This ensures continuity and a good customer service experience for our

ratepayers.

The Rates team is looking to recruit a skilled professional with experience in a similar role,

who can provide strong support for the Rates team and exceptional customer service for

ratepayers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure ratepayers receive accurate, timely and helpful information across all contact

channels, improving overall customer satisfaction• Actively reducing outstanding rates debt through timely and consistent follow up

• Process transfer of ownerships, change of addresses, direct debits

• Administer all aspects of pensioner/seniors ensuring eligible pensioners and seniors

receive accurate rebates and deferments

• Ensure owner-occupier records are consistently accurate and up to date

• Ensure compliance with legislation and internal procedures

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• Excellent analytical skills and a high level of accuracy.

• Sound verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

• Experience and knowledge in previous Rating Officer role or similar.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work under pressure.

• High computer literacy.

• Desirable - understanding of the Local Government legislation for rating.

• Desirable – experience and working knowledge of Technology One Property and Rating

system.

• Current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
