Rotorua Lakes Council is looking for a motivated Revenue Officer who enjoys meaningful work, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in getting the details right. If you like the feeling of knowing your work directly supports your community, this is a role where every day you contribute to services that keep our district moving forward.

As a Revenue Officer, you’ll become a key part of the team responsible for ensuring rates, water billing, and council income are processed smoothly and accurately. You’ll work closely with the Revenue Team Lead, our Customer Solutions team, and other council departments to make sure customers are billed correctly, payments are properly allocated, and enquiries are handled with clarity and care. You’ll be involved in everything from processing bank deposits and managing reconciliations to updating property records, assisting with remissions, and supporting debt management processes. It’s a role that blends customer interaction, investigative thinking, and hands-on financial work.

This is a position for someone who enjoys solving puzzles, spotting patterns, and making sure the numbers tell the right story. You’ll be someone who finds satisfaction in tidy reconciliations, accurate records, clear communication, and providing reassurance to customers who need help understanding their accounts. With at least three years’ experience in a financial/ administration environment, you’ll bring confidence with numbers, strong administrative skills, and the ability to manage tasks that require precision. A background in local government or rating is helpful, but what matters most is your accuracy, your initiative, and your willingness to learn.

At Rotorua Lakes Council, you’ll join a team that values collaboration and supports each other to deliver high‑quality outcomes. You’ll be part of a fast-paced environment where your work genuinely matters. You’ll also have opportunities to grow your capability, learn the systems and processes unique to local government, and build a strong foundation in revenue operations.

If you enjoy variety, like working with people, and take satisfaction in delivering work that has real significance for your community, this role offers exactly that. It’s a chance to bring together your financial skills, your customer-focus, and your eye for detail in a job that’s both rewarding and meaningful.
