About the Job

An excellent opportunity exists for a qualified Mechanic to join our Workshop team. 

This position repairs all mechanical plant and equipment operated by the Shire of Esperance. Scheduled servicing is conducted on all plant in order to minimise 'down time'.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and operational faults with plant and vehicles
• Perform work unsupervised either individually or in a team environment.
• Liaise with Works Supervisors regarding scheduling of works suitable and keep them informed of the progress of the works.

This position is full time - 85 hours over a nine day fortnight.

About you 

In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:

• Trade qualifications – Plant Mechanic with extensive experience.
• Strong mechanical background including computer diagnostic tool usage.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and operational issues.

Benefits

Salary: $103,496.15 (including overtime) per annum, plus superannuation.
