About the Position

We are seeking applicants for two key roles within our Infrastructure team:

Town Maintenance Officer

Reporting to the Town Maintenance Coordinator, TMOs are responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of:

  • Parks and gardens;
  • Public spaces;
  • Roads; and
  • Minor plant and equipment.

You’ll contribute to keeping Onslow looking its best while ensuring safe, high‑quality operations. The role also supports waste services as required, with occasional travel to other Shire towns.

Irrigation Maintenance Officer

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water delivery for landscapes, parks, and gardens. Duties include:

  • Troubleshooting irrigation system issues;
  • Adjusting timers, valves, and controllers;
  • Replacing damaged components; and
  • Ensuring systems operate efficiently and sustainably.

The ideal candidate will have experience with various irrigation systems, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in lawn, garden, or horticultural maintenance;
  • Can confidently work outdoors in Pilbara conditions;
  • Brings a positive attitude and a willingness to learn; and
  • Works well in a team and contributes to a safe, supportive environment.

Highly regarded:

  • MR or HR Licence
  • Plant operator certificates
  • Horticulture experience
  • Experience with irrigation systems (for Irrigation Maintenance Officer applicants)
