About the Role

Barkly Regional Council is seeking a reliable and safety-focused HC Truck Driver to support the movement and maintenance of Council fleet assets across the Barkly Region.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring Council projects are delivered efficiently by transporting vehicles and equipment between communities and supporting workshop operations. 

The role requires regular travel to remote communities, including overnight stays when required.

The Essentials

  • Able to operate the following plant equipment:
  1. Front-end loader
  2. Front-end loader/backhoe
  3. Front-end loader of the skid steer types
  4. Excavator
  5. Dozer
  6. Telehandler
  7. Forklift
  • National Criminal History Check.
  • Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card – Northern Territory).
  • CPCWHSS1001 Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card).
  • Heavy Combination (HC) Licence.
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

  • You are reliable, safety-focused, and community-minded, with a strong commitment to supporting Council operations across the Barkly.
  • You are self-motivated with clear communication skills and the ability to work independently in remote environments.
  • You have experience operating heavy vehicles and are confident engaging respectfully with diverse communities and stakeholders.

The Finer Details

  • Full-Time Permanent position paying Level 4 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2024.
  • Hourly Rate of $42.96 (including 25% casual loading).
  • 12% Superannuation.

Barkly Regional Council requires that all applicants have a National Criminal History Check. You will be required to provide a recent National Criminal History Check prior to any offer of employment.

Barkly Regional Council requires the applicant to be able to produce or be able to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card – Northern Territory) prior to commencement.
