The opportunity

The Team Leader Roadside Maintenance plays a key leadership role in delivering safe, efficient and high-quality maintenance of roadside assets, including street sweeping, drainage infrastructure, road signs and posts. Working within Engineering Services, this position leads operational teams and contractors, manages maintenance programs, supports asset management planning, and ensures compliance with safety, service and legislative requirements.

What you’ll do

• Lead and coordinate roadside maintenance teams, contractors and daily operations.
• Manage street sweeping, drainage, road sign and roadside asset maintenance programs.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure WHS/OHS compliance across operations.
• Oversee inspections, defect management and maintenance prioritisation of assets.
• Support asset planning, budgeting, reporting and continuous service improvement.

What you need to succeed

• Relevant qualification in Engineering, Civil Works, Construction, Project Management or similar, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within civil maintenance or a similar operational environment.
• Experience managing contractors, service providers and compliance requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
• Sound knowledge of health, safety and risk management practices.

Pre-Employment Requirements 

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
