If you enjoy working outdoors, operating plant and equipment, and being part of a supportive, multi-skilled team, this could be the opportunity for you.

Working as part of a multi-disciplined team, you will undertake a combination of grader operations, plant operation, truck driving and general labouring activities to support the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure assets.

While the primary focus is on grading operations, you will have the flexibility to work across other maintenance crews as operational priorities and work programs require.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and other Council crews to achieve operational targets and deliver quality outcomes.

  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace health and safety by following procedures, identifying and reporting hazards, and contributing to a positive safety culture.

  • Embrace technology and mobile workforce initiatives, contribute to improved work procedures, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Respond professionally and courteously to requests and enquiries, recognising the importance of Council’s reputation and relationships with the community.

  • Undertake other relevant duties within the scope of the position as required.

About you

You are a reliable, practical and adaptable operator who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of maintaining safe, well-presented and serviceable infrastructure.

You will bring:

  • The ability to work independently under limited supervision while contributing positively to a team environment.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and members of the public.

  • A proactive approach to workplace safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement.

  • A flexible attitude and willingness to work across different maintenance activities in response to operational requirements.
