Turn your potential into community impact

Start your career with hands-on experience across Blacktown City Council as a Graduate Business Analyst from mid-February 2027. Through structured rotations across People and Culture, Corporate Strategy and Performance, and Finance, you see how Council’s people, processes, systems, data and finances support services for the community.

You analyse data, map business processes and gather requirements from stakeholders. You prepare reports, presentations and dashboards, including using Excel and Power BI, to highlight trends, issues and opportunities. You support project planning, document actions and decisions, assist with system testing and help teams implement improved processes and systems.

Your work helps Council understand where processes can improve and supports better decisions and service delivery. Each rotation gives you practical experience in different areas while you build skills in business analysis, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and project delivery.

This opportunity suits a recent graduate who thinks logically, asks questions and communicates clearly. You must have completed a relevant degree by the commencement date or within the last 2 years and bring strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

  • a term contract, full-time role for up to 2 years with one of Australia's largest councils
  • an entry level salary commencing at $1,750.90 per week
  • a 35-hour working week
  • access to Council's flextime arrangement
  • 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
  • ongoing training and development support
  • access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.

Our commitment to safety
